Robert Hull
Geophysical Consultant

Robert Hull has over 34 years of geoscience experience including over fifteen in unconventionals. As a Petroleum Geoscientist he has extensive experience in multiple basins worldwide and in the field of the unconventionals he has been focused on understanding reservoir and completions interactions observed though various technologies to better optimize and develop unconventional resources. He has a strong background including M.S. in seismic stratigraphy and sedimentology and high-powered skills in numerous geoscience software systems. He is a frequent presenter at industry conferences, publishes regularly, as well as has developed patents for the industry.
Recent presentations and publications are on unconventional reservoirs, petroleum systems, microseismic and fiber optics. He co-authored one of the top 10 best papers at URTeC 2020 on the Canning Basin, Australia. He has been a leader in Innovations at a large Independent O&G company. HIs most recent experience has been on the international unconventional plays and their petroleum systems.
His technical interests include microseismic acquisition and processing, geomechanical calibration, and fiber optic systems for hydraulic fracture imaging and mapping. Substantial experience in Eagle Ford, Wolfcamp and Barnett Formations; Past experience in business development as well as exploration and development drilling for numerous horizontal wells. Work experience in 3D acquisition and design, shale modeling, completions and logging/ steering horizontal wells. Experienced in Kingdom, Transform, Petrel, Landmark, Geoprobe, IESX, Hampson Russell and various exploration software interpretation systems.
Specialties: unconventional shale reservoir characterization, downhole fiber optic geophysics and microseismic; DHI analysis for reservoir geophysics; fracture prediction, structural mapping for prospect development. Additional technical experience in seismic acquisition for land and marine 3Ds. Experience in international and domestic, deepwater to onshore, shale resource plays to rank exploration. Multiple years of experience in Venezuela. South Africa, Nigeria, Australia, and Indonesia.
